Golfweek has ranked the Texas A&M women’s golf team 19th in their preseason countdown, and named freshman Maddie Szeryk one of the Top 2014 freshman nationally.

In ranking the Aggies 19th to start the year, Golfweek writes “…the Aggies have a lot of promise.” Texas A&M finished T-10th in the NCAA Women’s Golf Championship a year ago, and returns All-American Marijosse Navarro, who finished sixth at the NCAA Championships.

In addition, Golfweek’s Andy Zunz named freshman Maddie Szeryk one of eight freshmen to watch nationally. A&M head coach Trelle McCombs described Szeryk to Golfweek as “as a player that has been good for a long time…[and] could be one of the fiercest competitors that I’ve been around in a long time.”

The Aggies start the 2014-15 campaign by hosting the 2014 “Mo”Morial Tournament at Traditions Club in Bryan from September 8-10.
