Two former Texas A&M women’s basketball standouts begin WNBA Playoff campaigns on Thursday night, as Sydney Carter and the Indiana Fever take on Washington, and Danielle Adams and the San Antonio Stars face Minnesota.
Adams is in the playoffs for the third time in her career, and has posted a career 12.2 scoring average over five career playoff games. The 2011 Final Four MOP started 14 games for San Antonio this this season, averaging 10.9 points and 4.1 rebounds for the Stars.
Carter is appearing in the WNBA Playoffs for the first time this season. She came off the bench in 23 games for Indiana this season, averaging 3.2 points and 1.3 assists. The MOP of the 2011 Dallas Regional had two double-digit scoring games for Indiana this season.
Carter’s Fever starts their best-of-three series with Washington at 6 p.m. CT on ESPN2, with Adams’ and San Antonio’s series-opener with Minnesota to follow at 8 p.m. CT on ESPN2. The series continue with Game 2 on Saturday, and Game 3 (if necessary) on Monday. The winners of each series advance to their respective conference finals.
