AUSTIN --- Texas A&M senior Simon Frank earned honorable mention All-America honors in the 400-yard IM to highlight the Aggies’ second day action at the NCAA Championships on Friday.

A team captain, two-time NCAA qualifier and school record holder in three races, Frank earned All-America honors for the first time with a sixth place finish in the 400 IM consolation final (No. 14 overall) in a time of 3:46.27. Frank’s 14th place finish was an improvement of two spots from his No. 16 seeding from the morning prelims when he touched in 3:45.13. Frank, who will swim the 200 breast on Saturday, is the school record holder in the 200 IM, 400 IM and the 200 backstroke.

The Aggie foursome of junior Luke Shaw, senior Paul-Marc Schweitzer, sophomore Mateo Muzek and sophomore Hunter Funk turned in a time of 6:27.40 in the 800 free relay. Shaw covered the leadoff 200 free leg in a lifetime best time of 1:35.23, which moves him to No. 3 on A&M’s all-time top 10 list in the 200 free.

In preliminary action in the morning session, senior Henrik Lindau turned in a time of 47.76 in the 100 fly and Schweitzer touched in 1:35.60 in the 200 free.
