Aggies Return Home to Face TCU

COLLEGE STATION – The No. 12 Texas A&M men’s tennis returns to the friendly confines of the George P. Mitchell Tennis Center to face the TCU Horned Frogs Saturday afternoon at 1 p.m.

The Aggies (14-5, 5-1) have taken to the road for the last two weekends winning three matches against just one loss in four SEC contests. A&M has not surrendered a point over the last three matches winning 4-0 against No. 18 Vanderbilt, Arkansas and LSU. TCU (8-6, 0-0) suffered a midweek defeat at the hands of No. 19 Columbia Thursday afternoon following a 4-3 win over Middle Tennessee State last Sunday in Fort Worth.

Each team enlists a trio of ranked singles players while the maroon and white feature two ranked doubles teams versus TCU’s solitary ranked duo. The ranked Aggies are No. 11 Harrison Adams, No. 23 Shane Vinsant and No. 50 Jeremy Efferding. All three of A&M’s ranked singles players have registered 10 victories in dual matches this season.

The Horned Frogs ranked singles players are No. 54 Nick Chappell, No. 99 Facundo Lugones and No. 109 Arnau Dachs. Doubles court one is set for a top-15 match up of No. 5 Junior Ore and Jackson Withrow set to take on No. 13 Nick Chappell and Will Stein. Efferding and Jordan Szabo are No. 38 in the latest ITA doubles rankings.

Last season the two schools faced off in Fort Worth at the Bayard H. Friedman Tennis Center with the Aggies registering a 6-1 victory. A&M took the doubles point via wins from Ore and Withrow along with Adams and Vinsant.  Efferding, Ore, Adams, Withrow and Szabo all collected singles victories while Vinsant was the only Aggie that suffered a setback in Cow Town.
