BATON ROUGE, La. – The No. 9 Texas A&M men’s tennis team travels to the Bayou State to take on the LSU Tigers Sunday afternoon at Dub Robinson Stadium. Sunday’s match will be the Aggies fourth straight SEC road match.

Texas A&M (12-5, 3-1) returns to action after blanking Arkansas Friday afternoon at the George M. Billingsley Tennis Center in Fayetteville. After claiming the doubles point, the maroon and white registered wins from Shane Vinsant, Jordan Szabo and Jeremy Efferding to make the final score 4-0.

LSU (8-7, 0-4) returns to league play after defeating George Washington 4-3 Thursday afternoon in Baton Rouge. Freshman Justin Butsch clinched the match on court four, his fourth consecutive win and first clinch of his career.

Texas A&M boasts three singles players ranked in the top-50 of this week’s ITA rankings, Harrison Adams at 12th, Shane Vinsant at 23rd and Jeremy Efferding at 50th. Chris Simpson of the Tigers is currently ranked No. 62. The maroon and white also feature a pair of ranked doubles teams in Junior Ore and Jackson Withrow at 5th and Efferding and Szabo at 38th. LSU also features a couple of ranked doubles teams in Chris Simpson and Boris Arias at 30th and Tam Trinh and Eric Peres at 61st.

Last season these two teams met in College Station with LSU registering the 4-3 upset. A&M claimed the doubles point, but was only able to get singles wins from Ore and Szabo.

Following Sunday’s match the Aggies will return to the friendly confines of the George P. Mitchell tennis Center for six straight home matches. Stay tuned to AggieAthletics.com and follow @AggieMTEN on Twitter for coverage of Texas A&M men’s tennis.
