FAYETEVILLE, Ark. – The No. 9 Texas A&M men’s tennis team shutout Arkansas 4-0 at the George M. Billingsley Tennis Center in Fayetteville, Friday afternoon.

“It is always great to get a win on the road in the SEC,” head coach Steve Denton said. “Conditions were pretty rough today and I thought our team responded pretty well to the adversity it presented. I think our whole team is getting better and our confidence as a team is growing.”

The Aggies (13-5, 4-1) made quick work of the Razorbacks (9-10, 1-4) to capture the doubles point with wins on the second and third doubles courts. The A&M tandems of Harrison Adams and Shane Vinsant along with No. 38 Jeremy Efferding and Jordan Szabo each registered 8-3 victories to clinch the point.

Texas A&M transitioned from doubles to singles well capturing the first set on four of six singles sets. No. 23 Vinsant doubles the A&M lead defeating Manfred Jeske on court two.

“Shane played some outstanding in singles and doubles today,” Denton said. “He is a really hard worker and it is nice to see his hard work paying off on the court.”

It did not take long for Szabo to put A&M up 3-0 after only dropping three sets on court six to Christian Lee. No. 50 Efferding clinched the match for the maroon and white on court three after only losing four sets.

“I know it is a cliché but we just have to continue to improve and take it one match at a time,” Denton added. “We have to be ready for another battle on Sunday at LSU, they have took it to us the last couple of times we have played them.”

The Aggies will remain on the road as they travel to the bayou to take on LSU at 1 p.m. Sunday afternoon. Stay tuned to AggieAthletics.com and follow @AggieMTEN on Twitter for coverage of Texas A&M men’s tennis.
