LAS VEGAS – The Texas A&M men’s golf team sits in 15th place after the conclusion of the second round at the Southern Highlands Collegiate Masters on Saturday.
The Aggies (321-308=629, +52) are back on the course at Southern Highlands Golf Club on Sunday morning during the event’s third and final round. A&M will begin teeing off at 11:12 a.m. (CT) and be paired alongside golfers from New Mexico and Texas Tech.
“Today was a little bit better but still not anywhere like we want it to be,” Texas A&M head coach J.T. Higgins said. “We are really struggling here this week, but we’re looking for a good round tomorrow so we can end on a positive note.”
Each player in the A&M line-up improved after Friday’s opening round, including junior Greg Yates (77-75=152, +8) who ended the day in a tie for 27th place.
Tournament host UNLV (289-303=592, +16) continues to sit atop the leaderboard while Stanford’s Patrick Rodgers (74-69=143, -1) shot a tournament-low round of 69 on Saturday to hold the individual lead.
