2014 (FRESHMAN)

Served as backup quarterback for the first eight games of 2014 after losing a close fall camp competition to Kenny Hill ... won the starting job during the open date after the Alabama loss and started the final four games of the regular season ... as a starter, Allen went 2-2 and passed for 764 yards (191 yards/game) and nine touchdowns on 73-of-119 attempts (61.3 completion percentage) ... for the season, Allen completed 96-of-157 passes (61.1 percent) for 1,028 yards and 12 touchdowns with six interceptions ... was named Walter Camp National Offensive Player of the Week and SEC Offensive POW after the Aggies’ road upset of No. 3 Auburn ... Allen completed 19-of-29 passes for a season-high 277 yards and four TDs with just one pickoff against Auburn ... had a season-highs for completions and attempts (24-of-35) against Missouri (for 237 yards, three TDs) ... became the first Aggie true freshman QB since Corey Pullig in 1992 to win his debut start ... is the first QB starter at Texas that hails from outside the state borders since Bucky Richardson (Louisiana) in 1987.
