COLLEGE STATION, Texas — The SEC regular-season co-champion and SEC Tournament champion Texas A&M Soccer team held its annual awards banquet Saturday evening at the Cox Diamond Club at Blue Bell Park.

The event honored athletes and staff in several athletic and academic areas for the 2013 season. Awards included recognition from various soccer media organizations and other outlets apart from Texas A&M University. The awards presented at the banquet varied from position MVPs, who contributed to the team’s success on the field, to those accolades which highlighted the athlete who most exemplified the spirit of Aggieland.

The squad presented positional MVP awards upon three players with Shea Groom earning Offensive MVP, Kelley Monogue receiving Midfield MVP and Meghan Streight garnering Defensive MVP in addition to the Perseverance Award.

Groom was also recognized as the team’s leading scorer with 35 points for the season and given the Iron Aggie award, while Karlie Mueller was honored as the Aggie assist leader for her 10 assists during the year.
