BATON ROUGE, La. --- The Texas A&M men’s and women’s swimming and diving teams will battle the LSU Tigers in a 1 p.m. dual meet on Saturday at the LSU Natatorium.
The No. 2-ranked women’s team is fresh off a midweek dual meet against Houston, which ended with an Aggie victory of 159-125 as A&M improved to 6-0-1. The women seek to continue their winning record on the road against the Tigers. The Aggie women are 2-0-1 in conference competition heading into their final SEC dual meet of the season. The two teams have seen each other in competition already this season at the Art Adamson Invitational in which the Aggies took first place and LSU came in third. The last six dual meet meetings with the Tigers have resulted in A&M wins.
The Aggie men are coming off a loss to No. 10 Georgia and seek to improve their conference record in the last SEC dual of the season. At the Art Adamson Invitational earlier this season, the Aggies finished in first ahead of the Tigers who took second in the meet. The Aggies have won four of the last six meetings with the Tigers in dual meet competition.
The Aggies go into Saturday’s with multiple standouts on the conference’s best times list.
SEC leaders on the women’s side include junior Lili Ibanez in the 200 freestyle (1:43.75), senior Paige Miller in the 100 back (51.36), senior Breeja Larson in the 100 breaststroke (58.29) and the 200 breastroke (2:06.74), senior Cammile Adams in the 200 fly (1:52.72) and the 200 free relay.
Standing out on the men’s side are senior Kyle Troskot (No. 3 in the 50 free, No. 13 in the 100 free), senior Henrik Lindau (No. 2 in the 100 fly, No. 7 in the 50 free, No. 11 in 100 free), junior Luke Shaw (No. 10 in the 200 free), senior Paul-Marc Schweitzer (No. 11 in the 200 free), senior Omar Enriquez (No. 11 in the 1,650 free). The Aggie men’s 200 free relay ranks No. 2 in the SEC. Among the divers, junior Ford McLiney ranks No. 6 on the three-meter and No. 11 on the one-meter, while senior Adam Ruiz ranks No. 10 on the one-meter and No. 11 on the three-meter.
