No. 25 Texas A&M puts its seven-game winning streak and nine-game home winning streak on the line as Mississippi State visits Reed Arena on Sunday at 2 p.m.
Mississippi State is led by former Texas A&M assistant coach Vic Schaefer, who served on the Aggies' staff from 2003-12, helping Texas A&M to the 2011 NCAA Championship. Schaefer is joined by former A&M assistant Johnnie Harris, and former A&M players Aqua Franklin, Maryann Baker and Skylar Collins on his coaching staff, all of whom are making their first visit to Reed Arena since moving to Starkville.
The Aggies are coming off of a 67-65 overtime victory over No. 8 South Carolina on Thursday, which gives Texas A&M sole possession of first place in the Southeastern Conference standings. The Aggies led by as many as 19 points before the Gamecocks were able to storm back to force overtime on a banked-in 3-pointer. The Aggies never trailed in the second half or overtime.
During the Aggies' seven-game win streak, point guard Jordan Jones has averaged 9.0 points and 7.4 assists per game. Courtney Williams has led the Aggies in scoring in this stretch with 18.7 points per game.
Fans can listen to the game on WTAW 1620 in Bryan-College Station, or all across the Texas A&M Sports Network. Subscribers to 12thManTV can also watch a live video stream of the game.
After this game, the Aggies head to Columbia, Mo. to face long-time rival Missouri in an SEC contest on Jan. 23. The Aggies return to Reed Arena next Sunday, as the No. 12 Tennessee Lady Vols make their first visit to College Station.
