Aggie Women’s Golf in Fourth at Alamo Invitational

SAN ANTONIO, Texas – The Texas A&M women’s golf team finished day one of the Alamo Invitational at seven-under par and in fourth place, at the Briggs Ranch Golf Course, hosted by UTSA.

Just three strokes off the opening round leader, Oklahoma (278), A&M had four golfers at par or better on the day. Freshman Andrea Jonama paced the maroon and white attack at four-under par in a tie for third place. Joining Jonama under par are seniors Natalie Reeves (70, t13), Katerina Ruzickova (71, t18) and Chelsea Mocio (72, t27). Rounding out the A&M lineup was senior Janell Lysack at just four-over in a tie for 68th place.

Following OU on the day-one leaderboard were Arkansas (279), Florida (280), A&M, LSU (285), UTSA (285), SMU (287), Florida State (289), TCU (289), Louisville (290), Tennessee (290) and Tulane (290) to round out the top-10. Completing the field were Texas State (292), Texas (295) and Baylor (297).

Playing as an individual, sophomore Alex Neal was one-over and tied for 39th place following Sunday’s round.

Play will resume Monday morning at 8:30 am (CT), the Aggies will be paired with golfers from LSU and UTSA beginning at 9:10 am.
