The third annual tournament will be held at the English Turn Golf and Country Club Feb. 24-26. The three-day, 54-hole competition will take place on the Par 72 Championship course, designed by Jack Nicklaus, stretches 6,105 yards and has played host to such prestigious events like the Zurich Classic on the PGA Tour. The tournament itself was named the third-best women's intercollegiate event for the 2013 season by Golf Digest and one of the top-five spring tournaments each of its three years.
"We are really looking forward to getting back on the course tomorrow," Head Coach Trelle McCombs said Saturday after the practice round at the course. "We feel like we have some unfinished business from last week. Our patience is going to be key over the next couple days."
The Aggies are returning to play after finishing sixth at the Seminole Match Up, hosted by Florida State. Senior Sarah Beth Davis led the Aggies in Florida by shooting five over par to finish 11th individually.
The first round of the tournament will begin Sunday at 9 a.m. (CT). Texas A&M is paired with Baylor and Purdue and will begin teeing off with a shotgun start at 9:00 a.m. (CT).
"The weather will be very iffy over the next 72 hours," McCombs added. "We need to be the team that embraces adversity playing with two teams we have not seen yet this year. Baylor and Purdue are bother very respectable programs and I look forward to seeing how we match-up with each of them."
Live scoring for the event will be available at GolfStat.com.
