Standout performances in the 2013 AT&T Cotton Bowl put a pair of Texas A&M football players on the All-Bowl Team selected by USA Today.
Making the USA Today's elite team were freshman quarterback Johnny Manziel and junior offensive tackle Luke Joeckel. Manziel and Joeckel helped lead the Aggies to a 41-13 win over the Big 12 Co-Champion Oklahoma Sooners.
Manziel, from Kerrville, Texas, set a variety of Cotton Bowl records with 516 total yards, including 229 rushing yards. He accounted for four touchdowns - two passing and two rushing --- as the Aggies turned a close game into a blowout with 27 unanswered points in the second half.
Joeckel, from Arlington, Texas, helped clear the way for an A&M offense that generated 633 total yards, including 326 rushing yards and 307 passing yards. Joeckel and his offensive line mates ensured that Manziel was not sacked by the Sooners.
