2013-14 (SOPHOMORE):
Did not compete in the spring due to an injury...FALL RESULTS: Went 3-2 in singles, competing at both the ITA Texas Regional and the USTA Clay Court Invitational...Won two sets in straight sets to open the Texas Regional before falling in the round of 32 to 30th-ranked Stefanie Tan of TCU...Also advanced to the round of 32 at the Clay Court Invitational before falling to 46th-ranked Daneika Borthwick of Florida State...Was 3-1 in doubles, including 2-1 with freshman Mason Strickland at the ITA Texas Regional...Closed out the fall with a victory with twin sister Ines Deheza at the USTA Clay Court Invitational.

2013 (FRESHMAN): Joined the team in January...Concentrated in doubles and finished second on the team behind twin sister and doubles partner Ines Deheza for most doubles victories in dual matches with a 19-7 record...Went 2-0 at the No. 2 line and 17-7 at No. 3...Also tied for second on the team for most wins in SEC play only with a 9-2 league mark...Was 20-7 overall, having played every match with Ines...Was named to the all-tournament team at the SEC Championship after going 2-0 and clinching the doubles point in both the quarterfinal match against 19th-ranked Auburn and the semifinal match against No. 2 Florida...Made career debut on Jan. 18 at the Miami Spring Invite and teamed with Ines to defeat Frances Altick and Marie Casares of Vanderbilt, 8-2...Longest winning streak was nine matches, all at No. 3 doubles...Was 1-1 against nationally ranked opponents, posting a commanding 8-2 victory against 68th-ranked Maria Christensen and Rachel Stuhlmann of Missouri on March 21...Played in only one singles match, falling in three sets to Texas’ Lana Groenvynck at the Miami Spring Invite.

PREVIOUS ATHLETIC BACKGROUND: Has been ranked as high as No. 64 in the ITF junior world rankings...Was No. 1 in South America in 2008 14-and-under age group, No. 6 in 2009 in 16-and-under and No. 1 in 2010 in 16-and-under...Competed at the 2011 U.S. Open and partnered with twin sister Ines Deheza to advance to the round of 32 in doubles...Was the winner of the 2011 South American Junior Championships, as well as the doubles winner at the Le Pont Des Generations Junior International in France...Was the runner-up in singles at both the Le Pont Des Generations Junior International and the Mondial Paris Cadet in Paris, France...Represented Bolivia at both the 2008 and 2010 Federation Cup.

PERSONAL: Maria Paula Deheza is the daughter of Rafael Deheza and Ines Landivar...Her twin sister, Ines, also is on the Texas A&M tennis team...From a family of Aggies, her father and older sister, Leny, graduated from A&M...Began playing tennis when she was 7 years old...Lists winning the SEC and reaching the NCAA finals as her most memorable moments in her A&M career...Only official recruiting visit was to Texas A&M...Hobby is playing soccer...Is majoring in business with a minor in accounting...Born March 2, 1994, in Santa Cruz, Bolivia.
