HOUSTON-- The Texas A&M women's swimming and diving team improved their undefeated record to 5-0 this weekend after a dominating performance at Rice University.  The Aggies won 12 of 14 possible events at the dual meet for a 168-94 victory.

The women's squad made a big statement setting eight new pool records.  The pool records broken were the 100 free by Sammie Bosma in 50.77, 1000 free by Sarah Henry in 9:45.50, the 100 breast by Breeja Larson in 1:00.47 also an NCAA 'B' cut, the 100 fly by Caroline McElhany in 54.72, the 200 fly by Cammile Adams in 2:00.54, and the 400 IM by Cammile Adams in 4:24.77.  Both of the two relays the Aggies swam were also pool records, the 400 free relay in 3:27.01 by Kelli Benjamin, Sarah Henry, Breeja Larson, and Sammie Bosma and the 200 medley relay swam in 1:42.58 by Tess Simpson, Breeja Larson, Caroline McElhany, and Liliana Ibanez.

The shining swimmer of the meet was junior Caroline McElhany with three first place finishes.  McElhany swam a 56.66 in the 100 back and a 54.72 in the 100 fly, along with assisting in the first place 200 medley relay.

"We had a number of good performances, Caroline McElhany won three events, and it's always good to do that. Sarah Henry's 1000 free was a really really good swim", said Head Coach Steve Bultman about the teams performance.

Sophomore Sarah Henry came in first place in the 1000 free under ten minutes with an impressive time of 9:45.50. Henry's pace was so impressive that she was only three seconds off the pool record for the 500 free in the first half of her swim.

Olympian Cammile Adams had a solid day with two first place finishes in the 200 fly with 2:00.54 and the 400 individual medley with a time of 4:24.77 both of which were new pool records.

With this meet, the Texas A&M swimming and diving team finishes their first semester undefeated and with dozens of new records. Aggies will resume competition on January 12 with a home meet against the Auburn Tigers.
