COLLEGE STATION, Texas - Texas A&M men's basketball senior guard Elston Turner was named one of the top shooters in the country this week by CBSSports.com college basketball insider Jeff Goodman.
Turner, who ranked 19th on the list, made his A&M debut last season after transferring from the University of Washington
During his first season on the court for the Aggies, Turner was named Honorable Mention All-Big 12. The Sacramento, Calif., native led the team in scoring with an average of 13.8 points per game and finished the regular season in the Big 12's top 10 in four categories: points (13.8 per game), minutes played (33.8 per game), three-point shots (71) and three-point percentage (38.9).
The list ranked Turner above Erik Murphy, a junior forward from Florida who checked in at No. 31, making the Aggie sharpshooter the highest rated SEC player on the list.

Turner along with his Aggie teammates return to the court Saturday, Nov. 3, when they host Incarnate Word in an exhibition contest before officially tipping off the 2012-13 campaign Nov. 9 against Louisiana Tech at Reed Arena.
