COLLEGE STATION - The fifth annual Basketball 101 for Ladies is scheduled for Monday, Nov. 5 at the Cox-McFerrin Center for Aggie Basketball. Tipoff is scheduled for 6 p.m. and the cost is $25 per person and it is casual dress and highly recommended to wear tennis shoes and comfortable clothing to move about.
Basketball practice has started and the Aggies will be looking to continue the record streak of seven straight NCAA playoff appearances including the 2011 NCAA National Championship. Aggie women’s basketball coach Gary Blair is anxious to spread the word about Aggie basketball and this is a great opportunity to interact with the players and coaching staff.
Blair, the recently named Women’s Basketball Hall of Famer, will be the keynote speaker and will provide great insight into building a championship team. The entire Aggie women’s basketball team including the coaching staff with veteran associate head coach Kelly Bond-White, new assistant and legendary coach Bob Starkey along with assistant coach Amy Wright, a former player for Coach Blair, will participate. There will be several stations and this program is for rookies who may not know how to dribble all the way up to professional who has a great three-point jump shot. There will be door prizes and a cocktail hour to finish off the night.
Fans can purchase tickets by calling the ticket office at 1-888-99-AGGIE or locally at 979-845-2311. Access is also available via the web at http://www.12thmanfoundation.com/ticket-center/women's-basketball/basketball-101.aspx
