CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA - A quick glance at the national rankings and it is very evident the ITA National Team Indoor Tennis Championships, hosted by the University of Virginia (Feb. 17-20), has the look and feel of the Round of 16 at the NCAA Championships.

"We are really excited about going to the ITA National Indoors this weekend at UVA to compete against the very best teams in college tennis," Aggie head coach Steve Denton said. "We have a great opportunity against No. 6 Kentucky. They feature one of the top players in the country in Eric Quigley and a team returning most of their starters from a Top 10 team from last season."

The Aggies, the 11th seed, face the sixth-seeded Kentucky Wildcats at 9 a.m. eastern (8 a.m. central) on Friday, Feb. 17 and the teams are paired with No. 14-seed Texas and No. 3-seed Ohio State. In the bottom part of the bracket, No. 9 Stanford faces No. 7 Baylor and No. 15 Auburn faces No. 2 and host Virginia.

The upper part of the bracket has top seed and three-time NCAA defending team champion USC playing No. 16 Tennessee, the No. 8 UCLA squad faces No. 10 Duke and then No. 4 Georgia plays No. 13 Cal and No. 5 Florida goes against No. 12 Pepperdine.

This will mark the second trip to Charlottesville for the Aggies in February. The Aggies, 5-2 on the year, dropped a 6-1 decision to Virginia on Feb. 5. The championships will be conducted at the Boar's Head Sports Club. All 16 teams survived the ITA Kick-Off Weekend to advance. The Aggies defeated No. 14-ranked Mississippi State, 4-3, while the Wildcats (9-0) defeated No. 22 Tulsa, 4-1, to advance to the National Indoors.

The Virginia Cavaliers have won this event the past four years. This marks the 38th annual ITA National Men's Team Indoor Championships. Last year, the Aggies went 1-2 in the championships held in Seattle, Washington.
