COLLEGE STATION, Texas - Senior Colin Hoover was swarmed by his teammates after he clinched the match and the all-time school record for a home winning streak with a 6-3, 6-7 (6-8), 7-5 win over Mississippi State's James Chaudry, who is ranked No. 79 nationally.  Hoover did so in front of a crowd of 427 that witnessed the No. 11 Aggies take the win over the No. 14 Bulldogs.

Senior's Alexis Klegou and John Lewis helped secure a point each for the Aggies, both with straight set wins at 6-4, 6-2 and 6-3, 7-6(7-4) respectively.  It was the second singles victory for both Klegou and Lewis in as many days. They were helped later when true freshman Jeremy Efferding won a thrilling set to tie the match at three with a win in three sets at 1-6, 6-0, and 7-6(8-6).

"You saw some really high caliber tennis there," A&M head coach Steve Denton said of Hoover's victory. "He showed a lot of character to battle back after missing out on six match points earlier on."

Denton also said of Efferding, "I thought that the key to the match was with him (freshman Efferding) as he took down a senior and coming back from being down 6-4 in the tiebreaker to win 4 straight points."

"This streak is a result of a bunch of good players over an extended period of time, and it is a great springboard moving forward in the season for our younger team," Denton said. Coach Denton praised the crowd, stating "the 12th Man helped us get this victory tonight."

The Aggies earned an automatic bid to the ITA Indoor National Championships at the University of Virginia later this spring. (Feb. 17-20)

The win improves the men's home winning streak to 40 straight matches dating back to a 4-3 loss to Fresno State on Jan. 30, 2010.  The Texas A&M baseball teams of 1988 and 1989 put together a 39-game home winning streak, winning the final 12 games of 1988 and the first 27 home games of 1989.
