Diana R. Harbourt, a certified specialist in sports dietetics, has been with Texas A&M since 2010 and is responsible for the well-being and nutrition for the Aggie Olympic sports.
Born in Binghamton, New York and raised in Virginia, Harbourt received her bachelor’s degree from Virginia Tech in 2007 and went on to complete her dietetic internship at the University of Virginia in 2008. She returned to Virginia Tech in 2008 to work as a Graduate Assistant in Sports Nutrition for the Hokies.
Following her motto of “what can food do for you?” Harbourt coaches the student-athletes on the right nutrition plan for them through individual counseling sessions, meal plans, cooking demonstrations, grocery store tours and team presentations.
With the opening of the R.C. Slocum Nutrition Center, Harbourt works closely with the chef to design menus as well as educate student-athletes on utilizing the Nutrition Center to fuel their bodies. She is also responsible for the student-athlete body composition testing and analysis, using the data from this test to help determine the right nutrition plan for each individual athlete. Diana has had the pleasure of working with several 2012 Olympians who represented various countries.
In her spare time, Harbourt trains in Mixed Martial Arts and Muay Thai. She also enjoys running, biking, swimming, soccer, and cooking.
