Texas A&M’s women’s basketball team announced the hire of Kristen Grant as Director of Player Development/Assistant Video Coordinator. Grant played for the Aggies from 2010-14, and was a member of the Aggies’ 2011 National Championship Team.

“We’re bringing in a young lady who not only won an NCAA Championship and an SEC Championship on the court, but also graduated in three and a half years,” said Texas A&M head coach Gary Blair. “We feel that Kristen can help us grow our individual student athletes in a number of different ways, both on and off the court.”

“I am humbled to have the opportunity to stay at Texas A&M and work with this amazing coaching staff and team,” said Grant. “This is a great opportunity for growth and I am very excited to get started. The team is hungry, has set high goals for the season, and I am ready to see them shock the world, once again.”

Grant played in 70 games in her collegiate career, including the victories in the 2011 National Championship game against Notre Dame and the 2013 SEC Championship game against Kentucky. While at A&M, her teams made the NCAA Tournament in each of her four seasons, finishing with a 12-3 record in the NCAA Tournament. Overall, her teams went 109-34 over her four-year playing career.

Grant graduated from Texas A&M on Dec. 13 after just three-and-a-half years, and took graduate classes for her final semester on the team.

Grant’s brother, Nick, served as the Aggies’ video coordinator from 2012-14, and is currently an assistant coach at San Diego State.
