TALLAHASSEE, Fla.—The Texas A&M women’s golf team slid to fifth place after round two of the Florida State Match-Up in Tallahassee Saturday.

The Aggies (293-307=600, +24) shot 19 over par for the day to move them back to fifth, while South Carolina (+10) jumped to the top of the leaderboard with five over par in round two. Clemson (+13) finished the day in second place, followed by Florida State (+16) and Virginia (+18). Mercer (+25) is one shot behind the Aggies in sixth, with Mississippi State (+27), Furman (+28), Kansas State (+43), Kansas (+44) and Florida Gulf Coast (+44) trail sequentially.

“Our reactions to things that happened out there were completely different than yesterday,” Texas A&M head coach Trelle McCombs said. “We didn't handle ourselves in the same manner. When you do that you are going to get the results that we got today. Have to do a better job of letting things roll off our shoulders.”

Texas A&M senior Katerina Ruzickova (71-75=146, +2) once again led the Aggies for the day, shooting three over par and ending the second round in a tie for fifth.  Freshman Andrea Jonama (72-76=148, +4) followed closely with four over par and a tie for eighth as freshmen Bianca Fabrizio (73-82=155, +11) and Callie Scheffler (77-78=155, +11), and junior Natalie Reeves (79-78=157, +13) rounded out the A&M team score.

“Conditions were tough out there and we just didn't handle it very well,” McCombs said. “I am proud of Katerina and Andrea and how they hung in there and stayed in contention.”

The third and final round of the match-up will begin Sunday morning at 7:30 am (CT) with a shotgun start. The Aggies are paired with Virginia and Mercer and will tee off on holes five through nine. Live scoring for the event can be found at
