Texas A&M, in conjunction with the NCAA’s community service efforts that surround the Women’s Basketball Championship, is accepting nominations of the Volunteer of the Year in Brazos Valley.

The NCAA Volunteer of the Year Promotion runs until Feb. 28 in conjunction with the community service efforts that surround the Women’s Final Four in Nashville, Tenn. The NCAA is honoring one person in each of the 20 communities that are hosting the 2014 Women’s Basketball Championship who goes above and beyond in their community.

Each site will announce its Volunteer of the Year on February 28, as well as honor this person at a game during the Championship. In addition to being recognized in their community, the stories of these volunteers will be told throughout the Women's Final Four in Nashville.

These volunteers will be selected based on contributions to their community and the example they set for others, which is what Women's Basketball Programs are doing each day.

The winner will be announced on February 28th and be honored on March 25 during the Second Round of the NCAA Tournament at Reed Arena. Nominations should be sent to LaKeisha James at ljames@athletics.tamu.edu by February 24th at the latest.
