COLLEGE STATION – Texas A&M will play host to its first indoor track meet of the season this Saturday with the Reveille Invitational starting at 3 p.m. in the Gilliam Indoor Track Stadium. Visiting teams include Houston, TCU and UT-San Antonio for the 3 ½ hour meet that will include 12 events per gender.

On the track the events include the 60 meters, 200m, 800m, Mile, 5,000m, 60 hurdles, and 4x400 relays. Field events contested include the high jump, pole vault, long jump, shot put and weight throw.

This will be the first chance for fans to see the returning members of the Aggie men's defending NCAA Outdoor championship team and the women's NCAA runner-up squad along with newcomers to the program.

Texas A&M senior Wayne Davis II, the defending NCAA Champion in the 110 hurdles, will headline the 60-meter hurdle field. Davis holds the Aggie school record of 7.59 set last season and could challenge the meet record of 7.73 set by Olympic champion Aries Merritt in 2010.

Also in action for A&M is a pair of runner-up sprinters from the 2013 NCAA Outdoor meet in Kamaria Brown (200m) and Deon Lendore (400m). Brown will compete in the 60 meters and 4x400 relay while Lendore runs in the Aggie 4x400.

Jena Hemann, the school record holder in the pentathlon (4,017 points), will have a three-event day. After Hemann opens with the 60 hurdles, she will contest the high jump and shot put. The weight throw events features a pair of A&M school record holders in Brea Garrett (65-11 ½) and Casey Strong (66-9 ¾).

Multi-talented LaQue Moen-Davis, the SEC Freshman Field Event Athlete of the Year in 2013, will join Hemann in the 60 hurdles and she will also long jump. A pair of A&M frosh in the 60 hurdle field include Shamier Little and Lyric Lawrence.

TCU’s Lorraine Ugen, the defending NCAA Outdoor long jump champion, will offer Moen-Davis an interesting challenge. Ugen set the meet record at the Reveille Invitational in 2011.

Ashton Purvis, the A&M record holder in the 200m (22.70), will headline a group of Aggie sprinters in the event that includes Olivia Ekponé, Ibukun Mayungbe, Shelby Leppin and Makayla Prevost.

Jennifer Madu, the SEC Freshman Runner of the Year in 2013, competes in a women’s 60-meter field that includes A&M All-American Gabby Mayo, who anchored the Aggie collegiate record in the 4x100 in 2009, as well as current A&M sprinters Ashley Collier, India Daniels, Aaliyah Brown and Jeronda Womack.

Prezel Hardy, Jr., now in his senior season with the Aggies, will run the 200 with teammate Shavez Hart, Michael Bryan Jermaine Davis, and Jeremy Jordan. Bryan and Davis, also senior members of the team, will contest the 60m along with Aldrich Bailey, Jr., Davis II and Jonathan Turner competing.

While Aggie 800m runners Josh Hernandez and Aliese Hyde move up in distance and open with a mile in the Reveille meet, a batch of A&M newcomers will race in the men’s and women’s 800m.
