COLLEGE STATION, Texas – The No. 9 Texas A&M equestrian team (2-1) begins a two-meet road swing at No. 5 TCU (2-0), Friday at 12 p.m. The contest will take place at the Horned Frogs’ indoor facility at Turning Point Ranch in Springtown, Texas.

“TCU is a great team and has had some big wins this year, so I think this is going to be a very close, exciting meet like the one we had last weekend,” Head Coach Tana McKay said. “Our riders really proved themselves against South Carolina and we want to take that same energy and intensity into this show.”

The Aggies are hot off of a 10-9 upset victory over third-ranked South Carolina last weekend in Bryan. The Southeastern Conference meet came down to the very last ride, where sophomore Logan Pluhar matched her opponent’s score to tie the ride and win the competition.

Pluhar also rode in horsemanship, impressing the judge with her ride and earning Most Outstanding Player honors for the second time in three meets. The sophomore’s big month also earned her SEC October Horsemanship Rider of the Month accolades, the first of her career.

The Horned Frogs are 2-0 this season, topping Big 12 opponents Baylor and Kansas State to reach No. 5 in the polls, the team’s highest ranking in history. TCU retains five All-Americans this season in Erin Gillette, Kaitlin Perry, Alexi Child Katelyn Gray and Caitlin Ader.

The Aggies and Horned Frogs have met nine times in history, with Texas A&M retaining an 8-1 all-time edge. The teams last met in a western-only event at the Brazos County Expo Complex last year when the Aggies rode to a 5-4 win.
