Aggies ranked No. 16 in first BCS Standings

The Texas A&M football team was ranked No. 16 in the initial release of the Bowl Championship Series standings on Sunday.

The 5-2 Aggies were one of six Southeastern Conference schools included in the BCS standings, joining No. 1 Alabama, No. 5 Missouri, No. 11 Auburn, No. 13 LSU and No. 21 South Carolina. The Aggies have already faced the Crimson Tide and Auburn and have Missouri and LSU remaining on their schedule.

The Aggies were ranked No. 14 in the Associated Press Top 25 and No. 15 in the USA Today head coaches poll. Texas A&M has been ranked in 19 consecutive AP and USA Today top 25 polls, and nine straight BCS standings.
