NORMAN, Okla. – The Texas A&M women’s golf team fell three spots to twelfth place after the second round of the Schooner Fall Classic Sunday afternoon. Senior Katerina Ruzickova is fifth on the leaderboard just four strokes off the lead with 18 holes to play.

“Kat was solid again today and played really great coming in,” Texas A&M head coach Trelle McCombs said. “She stayed patient against the tough conditions and never got upset with herself even when her scorecard didn’t look great.”

Ruzickova (68-75) closed out the second round with two birdies in the final four holes to move into sole possession of fifth place. The Czech Republic native is one of only 11 players to play par 3s at even or better and ranks tied for fifth on par 5s at one-under through two rounds.

LSU (295-291) took the day two lead by two strokes over Arizona State (293-295). Completing the top-10 are Oklahoma State (293-296), Oklahoma (307-286), Kentucky (300-296), Florida State (296-305), Texas State (303-298), Kent State (298-303), Pepperdine (309-293) and TCU (301-303). Denver (298-307), A&M (303-304), SMU (306-302), Texas Tech (313-305) and Georgia (311-308) round out the leaderboard.

Joining Ruzickova in maroon and white were senior Natalie Reeves (75-73, t16th), freshman Bianca Fabrizio (79-78, t56th), freshman Andrea Jonama (81-78, t64th) and senior Chelsea Mocio (82-79, t68th).

“Conditions were tough for the second straight day especially with the difficult hole locations we faced,” McCombs said. “Natalie stayed focused throughout day and it really showed on her final five holes. I am looking for a couple solid rounds from the freshman tomorrow.”

The Schooner Fall Classic is hosted by the University of Oklahoma at the Belmar Golf Club. The par-70 course measures 6,082 yards.

The third and final round of the Schooner Fall Classic will tee off at 8:30 a.m. (CT). The Aggies are paired with TCU and Denver set to begin at hole 10 with the first group.
