Three Aggies Named to U.S. National Team

INDIANAPOLIS— Three members of the Texas A&M woman’s swimming team were named to the U.S. National Team as USA Swimming announced its 2013-2014 roster. The team was drawn from the top six finishers at the World Championship Trials, the U.S. Open, the World University Games, and the World Championships which took place in the summer.

Representing Texas A&M on the team are senior Cammile Adams (Cypress, Texas), junior Sarah Henry (Garner, N.C.), and senior Breeja Larson (Mesa, Ariz.).

Adams made the team in the 200m fly after winning the Championship Title in the 200m fly at the Phillips 66 National Championships and World Championships Trials. At the World Championships, Adams finished 7th in the 200 fly.

Henry qualified for the team in four events: the 200m and 400m IM and the 400m and 800m free. Henry was the only swimmer at the U.S. Open to reach the Championship final in five events and placed in the top five in each, taking silver in the 200m free and 800m free, bronze in the 400m IM, fourth place in the 400m free and fifth in the 200m IM. At the World University Games, Henry earned a gold medal on the USA 800m free relay and silver in the 200m IM

Larson took both the 100m and 200m breaststroke positions on the team. At the Phillips 66 National Championships and World Championship Trials, Larson grabbed gold in both the 100m breast and 200m breast. Larson earned a gold medal on the USA 400m medley relay team at the World Championships. Individually, Larson placed fifth in the 100m breast at the World Championships.
