Thursday's game will be elementary school night, parents can go to http://www.12thmanfoundation.com/ticket-center/promo/elementary.aspx to register their children for free tickets to the game. A frisbee catching dog act will be the half-time entertainment on Thursday.
COLLEGE STATION, Texas - No. 11 Texas A&M (19-5, 9-1) returns to the friendly confines of Reed Arena for the second ever meeting with the Florida Gators at 8:00 p.m. (CT)Thursday night.
The Aggies are on a conference-best seven game win streak and look to match SEC-leading Tennessee (19-5, 10-1) for a tie atop the conference standings. During A&M's seven-game win streak the Aggies have won by an average of 19.1 points per game and in the Aggies' nine SEC wins the average margins of victory has been 20.6 points. A&M currently leads the SEC in scoring margins in conference games (+18.2).
The maroon and white look to continue their winning ways following Sunday's 50-48 road win over then No. 12 South Carolina. The Aggies were led by All-American candidate Kelsey Bone's 13 points and 15 rebouns, her 11th double-double this season. Joining Bone in double figures were Senior Adrienne Pratcher and reigning SEC Freshman of the Week Courtney Walker with 10 apiece.
The only previous meeting between Florida and Texas A&M took place in the NCAA First Round in 1994, the Aggies advanced by a 78-76 score over the 20th-ranked Gator squad.
Senior Adrienne Pratcher is currently leading the NCAA in assist-to-turnover ratio according to the latest NCAA stats release on Feb. 10. The Aggies lead the SEC in field goal percentage, three-point field goal percentage and assists per game heading into the matchup with Florida. Individually, Bone leads the SEC in field goal percentage (fourth nationally) places second in rebounding and third in scoring.
The contest will be televised by CSS with Matt Stewart (play-by-play) and Maria Taylor (commentary) calling all the action. Fans in the Bryan/College Station region should also be able to see the game on Cox Sports TV, which is also scheduled to air the game.
Fans with access to Watch ESPN through their cable provider will also be able to catch the game on that platform.
