2014 (FRESHMAN): Made 14 appearances as a freshman, all as a reserve... batted .286 (2-for-7) with two runs and one stolen base... first career hit was a pinch-hit single vs. UTPA (3/11)... entered NCAA Regional game versus Rice (6/1) as a pinch-runner and went 1-for-1 with two runs... played for the Kitsap BlueJackets of the West Coast League... batted .256 (33-for-129) with 18 runs, two doubles, one triple, 15 RBI and 21 stolen bases... ranked second in the WCL with 21 stolen bases.

AT JESUIT HIGH SCHOOL: Led by coach Tim Massey, the team advanced to Quarterfinals Choruby’s junior year and lost to the eventual state champions…helped his team reach the second round of playoffs his senior year (2013) where he landed a .470 AVG compared to the previous year’s .390 AVG…throughout the regular season, he mustered 4 walk-off hits…in his two years, he accumulated a number of accolades and honors including #9 Prospect in the Northwest by Baseball Northwest, first team All-Metro League (INF), second team All-State, voted team MVP, team “Man for Others” award as well as Captain’s Award, All-League Academic Award, and was selected to play in Oregon All-Star Series…played summer baseball with Athletes in Motion…led the team in both stolen bases, with 27, and hitting…member of the Spanish National Honor Society.

PERSONAL: Nicholas Jake Choruby was born November 8, 1994 in Portland, Oregon to parents Bonnie and Shawn…his hometown is Tigard, Oregon…father played for A&M from ’84-’85, as his mother also attended…has two younger sisters, Anna and Madeline…Economics major hoping to own his own business someday.
