After spending the last four seasons assisting with the football recruiting efforts at Nebraska and Kansas, Scott Johnston is in his first year as the Aggies’ Director of Football Recruiting.

Johnston was hired at Texas A&M in 2013 spending two years at the University of Kansas -- his first season as the On-Campus Recruiting Coordinator and the most recent season as the Director of Personnel.

In both positions, Johnston was responsible for the development, implementation and execution of the Jayhawks’ football recruiting plan.

Also among his duties at Kansas were the management of the roster in regard to NCAA eligibility and compliance, serving at the program’s NFL liaison and building relationships between prospects, high school coaches and the Kansas staff.

Johnston went to Kansas after spending two years as the recruiting operations intern for football at Nebraska. Prior to that, he served as student recruiting assistant for the Cornhuskers. Johnston graduated from NU with a bachelor’s degree in biology in December 2008.

A native of Papillion, Neb., Johnston married the former Ashley Metzler in July 2013.
