COLLEGE STATION - With the Southeastern Conference release of the 2013 football conference game schedule, Texas A&M University is able to release the complete 2013 Aggie football schedule.

“We’re excited to host eight home games giving a regional balance to our 2013 schedule,” Texas A&M Director of Athletics Eric Hyman said. “With the addition of Missouri and Texas A&M to the SEC, with so many variables to factor, the long-term scheduling continues to be a work in progress. As the 2012 schedule was a unique one, so will be the 2013 schedule. The permanent schedule for SEC schools will begin in 2014.”

“I know the athletic directors and the conference office have worked very hard on the schedules and I appreciate their efforts,” Aggie head coach Kevin Sumlin said. “I know we are only rookies in this league and just about halfway through our league schedule this year, but in the SEC, it doesn’t matter who you have on the schedule, each and every week is a challenge.”

The SEC schedule has at least one conference matchup each and every week of the 2013 regular season. In addition to the clashes with the Western Division foes, the Aggies will host Vanderbilt and go on the road to Missouri from the Eastern Division. Texas A&M opens at Kyle Field against Rice on August 31 followed by a Highway 30 matchup against Sam Houston State (September 7) before the Alabama Crimson Tide comes to Kyle Field for a September 14 game. The four-game homestand to begin the year concludes with SMU coming to College Station on September 21.

Texas A&M will hit the road to Fayetteville to face the Razorbacks on September 28 before an open date. The Aggies will face Ole Miss in Oxford on October 12 before hosting Auburn on October 19 and Vanderbilt on October 26 before having a second open date. The Texas A&M at Ole Miss matchup is one of three repeats from 2012 and the other two include Georgia at Auburn and Ole Miss at Alabama.

The November schedule finds Texas A&M at home on November 9 against Mississippi State and New Mexico on November 16 before facing LSU in Baton Rouge on November 23 and closing out the regular season on the road against Missouri on November 30.

The SEC office stressed that the 2013 schedules are not the permanent schedules and the cross-divisional common opponents that were previously announced by the conference will not take place until 2014. The 2013 SEC Championship Game will be played on Saturday, December 7, at the Georgia Dome in Atlanta.
